First you taste the slightly salty minerals, then the dark cherry with a hint of cinnamon. It's smooth and delicious. Drinking great now, showing it's age in a good way. Drink now.

A bit reserved on nose, aromas of candied dry red cherry and some sous bois, 15 min decant brings out some round sweet and very smooth flavors. Nice pinot texture here and a slight bitter orange peel on the finish which gives it a good finish. Was going to decant this for longer but this is going back into the bottle to be enjoyed with the Olympic opening ceremony -will go great with first round of appetizers. I see no upside in further aging.

Decanted this for several hours. The color is turning darker to a brownish brick. The nose is still full of fruit and licorice (very nice). The palate is softening with a medium-body. Deliciously smooth and full of flavors with a spicy firm finish. I am enjoying this much more than earlier bottles which I felt where over-powering. Drinking beautifully right now. 5,13,17,6=91

I normally do not decant most pinots, but I did this one. It is a big wine. Nose was not very aromatic. Got softer tones of red fruit and some earth. Alcohol content was higher, but it did not come across as hot more bold full bodied with a spicy, tingling, lasting finish. My wife enjoyed more than I. 50,5,12,15,6=88
