The merlot is drinking great! The flavor profile was comprised of black raspberry, cherry, and a lovely chocolate overtone; very flavorful. The mouthfeel was velvet. It was terrific from the first pour. We only have one bottle left in the cellar -- ugh!

Rather dark and inky in the glass. Dark chocolate, whipped cream, and red fruits on the nose. Rich and thick on the palate like a huge syrah, with blueberry, chocolate cherry, cassis, currant, tar, and peach skin. Huge merlot here. Huge...did I say that? Nice balance of all components with a hint of cherry soda on the end of a long finish. Great effort here...love it.

Open That Bottle Night 2015 (Duluth, GA): A very structured and masculine Merlot showing lots of cedar and red currant, some flesh on the palate, the age is starting to soften the firm tannin; very nice.

(Plumpjack Merlot) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-dark cherries; definite oak; a little Asian spice coming through as well; really big, bold red fruits; PALATE-really good firm tannins; good strawberry fruit; a little hot on the back-end; good potential for aging; a big merlot that reminds me more of a Cabernet; good structure; great profound fruits (strawberries; cherries); RP-89/92; GV-89
