Caramel, mocha, leather, hints of vanilla, blackberry and earthiness from cellar age. Very smooth and well balanced. Certainly on the window for prime drinking now.

Dark crimson purple colour, little hue. Aromas of leather and musk, and undertones of wet asphalt. A full bodied wine with long finish. Tannin up front but with good jammy black fruit. Quite enjoyable for wine if this age. Started off quite smooth but deteriorated within an hour.

- Brick color - What a controversial wine with regards reviews. More Gold medals than Usain Bolt, but reviews well below gold standards. I'm suitably impressed! 10 years in the cellar and it's shining nicely. Big red ripe plum and blackcurrant, sweet oak, chocolate and an empowering earthiness. Perfectly rested, this wine is balanced, smooth with a little complexity. A beautiful example of Aussie Shiraz.

(a winter's eve slow roast with Mich&Bo and Newan) Dark and dense ruby red in the glass. Prominent florals, cherries, dark peppers, cola on the nose. Silky tannins, chocolatey, dark small-bunched berries, black currents, dried plums, giving rise to good concentration and great depth, while showing classy restraint and impeccable poise. Nothing flabby about it. Tad bitter tinge on the finish, not disagreable, but reminiscent of mushroom and damp forest floor, along with smokey ash. A long but very gentle minty finish which is well focused. Great wine drinking very nicely now, coherent, textural, complex, complete, and just about everything I ask in an Aussie Shiraz. Paired very beautifully with Bo's incredibly pink-ringed slow-bbq'd pork and the inimitably juicy medium-rare standing rib roast.
