Gorgeous glowing colour of green-gold Very rich nose that packs a lot of passion fruit and dried mango character. Silky entry, builds in intensity in the mouth. Very fine acidity running through this to keep it fresh and balanced. Behaves more like a decent dry white Bordeaux. Oak all integrated, no signs of toast just gentle cream tones. A lick of lime and gooseberry perhaps in the finish. Not too shabby for a 10+ year old Sancerre!

Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Jadis and Etienne Henri Verticals (Grande Bretagne Hotel, Athens, Greece): Best of the vertical and one of the best aged whites I have ever come across. Terrific nose of tropical fruits (mango, lychee), honey, flint stone and dried apricot. Medium to full-bodied, round, rich and complex with perfectly kept fruit and balancing acidity. Very long. A beauty.
