2007 Sine Qua Non, Labels Syrah. Smokey blueberries with olive, spice, and a bit of pepper. Plenty of fruit left, but the acidity is front/center here creating a medium bodied wine and a tremendous mouthefeel. I honestly think that almost anyone would have a hard time not appreciating this wine. It’s not huge, it’s not AFWE….it’s just great. Smack dab in the zone and EXACTLY what I was looking for tonight. Life is good!

An outstanding Syrah that had all the qualities of a typical one but each one was spectacular. Long finish and beautiful pure fruit with spice and minerals all in one. One of the best wines I have ever had.

Drank at TFL on 11/17/23, paired with a 2012 Barbour. Not the best SQN out there. Felt like this was over the hill, fairly hollow mouthfeel. Was hoping for more resolve after more than 10 years in the bottle. Really nice nose, blueberry, fig, anise, just left me wishing I brought a different SQN

Incredibly dark still with almost no sign of bricking, no clue to its age.Great legs. Nose shows black fruits and tar. Lovely intensity of black fruit. Initially very tight but gradually expanding to have figgy/plummy elements. Beautiful. Increasingly showing secondary elements with exposure to air. Probably not readily mistaken for a Rhone wine because of the extraordinary ripeness but beginning to add some of those flavour elements.

SQN Dinner (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL): In 06/07 flight. Powerful and meaty, this has so much here but isn't as perfectly harmonious as the best of SQN, even a little grippy. But so much here.
