Half-hour decant to start, served in the low 60s F. Cork in great condition. A deep garnet color, no bricking. Rich earthy nose, with a hint of menthol tobacco. Black cherry fruit dominates the palate. Initially velvety mouthfeel, evolved to a silky drying wine with a short but pleasant finish. Acidity has faded a bit, but this is still a well-balanced wine.

Opened and poured - the cork was in perfect condition and a very nice tight fit. Superb earthy aromas and dusty notes....silky smooth, with some nice structure and velvet. Cherry, currant predominate. In a good place, and quite enjoyable. Got better from initial pour to final sip. Given this, I think there's still time on this one.

Aromas and flavors of dried red cherry and red currant, and toasted cedar. Medium to full body. Well balanced acidity pops on the finish. Pairs well with beef tenderloin.

Good franc but may have sat too long. I felt it had lost some of its luster.
