Cristom Wine Dinner (The Columbus Club): color light straw, nose with honeysuckle and classic viognier aromatics. on palate, fruit showing well with nice acid and smooth finish. there were nice floral notes on finish, reminiscent of condrieu.....will definitely enjoy again.

2008 Oregon Pinot Noir ($20 to $40, mostly): I liked this but had no idea that it was Viognier. Silvery/white gold in color. The nose is expressive with some grapefruit and seltzer. Silky texture. On the palate, slightly bitter almonds turning to grapefruit on the finish. Long finish. Nothing floral about this wine. I was told its $26 Ohio, which is perhaps a bit high but certainly worth drinking.

This wine is very floral on the nose with some crisp melon scents in the background. Delicate peach flavors appear up front, and are quite enjoyable. It has a dusty texture, and it delivers a herbal note later on the mid palate. It's interesting, but I look forward to it integrating a little more.

Good classic viognier. Crisp, vibrant fruit, good minerality and decent finish.
