val and i sipped this on a cool evening in la jolla, california. the wine was rich yellow in color with lots of baked pears and golden apples on the nose. medium+ bodied, medium- acid. toasty, but not too much. we both liked the almond and hazelnut flavors. pear butter and rich apples with a smooth finish. really like the flavor profile, and the fact that this is not over-the-top with the butter and oak. well-integrated. could've used a bit more acid, but it's still a solid wine, especially for $15.

Very satisfying, good balance. not so much a food wine, more of a sipper.
