– popped and poured – – tasted non-blind over a couple hours – – 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah –
NOSE: gentle smokiness and some dull cherries; an odd vegetal streak; hints of spearmint and chalk.
BODY: orange-tinged ruby color of medium to medium-deep depth; medium-light to medium bodied.
TASTE: seems fresh, but without much (if any) depth of fruit flavors; light tart red berry and leather flavors; light garrigue and soggy cigar on the finish, which is long and of light intensity. smooth tannins and lots of acid — on the acidic side of well-balanced between acid and tannin; slightly warm in the belly; not much structure; best days are definitely behind this one. Drink now.
B: 50, 5, 10, 13, 6 = 84 A: 50, 5, 10, 16, 6 = 87
