  Clear garnet with an orange rim.
  This has lasted quite well.
  Lost all freshness and fruit. Lots of earthy iron on the fragrant nose, I could have confused this with a 40 yo Pauillac.
  Earthy leather flavors with great mouthwatering acidity and great balance. This has aged beautifully, though I’d be hesitant to serve this to any but the Burg geek or old wine enthusiast

  The wine shows age with a onion miniscus but the bouquet is fresh and fruity with strawberry, dark cherry and stewed plum. These fruits follow into the palate where the acidity beautifully balances the flavoursome and rich but also elegant mouthfilling drink. There is a good length to the finish with nice strawberry and cherry aftertaste although also supported by some spicy oak. I remember 2007 was a good year but I only bought one bottle of this - wish I had more now. This label seems to outperform its pricepoint so I will go looking for more recent vintages.

  Nice tertiary aromas of earthiness developing on the nose, but still a core of deep cherry holding it together. Supple tannins, with rich cherr/cherry in alcohol- quite a full wine. Another testament to the sound viticulture and winemaking by Gros Freres et Soeur- to have such a solid wine from humble provenance. Only wish I had more.

  What a difference 6 months celaring can make after shipping from la bellle france. Just retried excellent 2009 and this vintage whilst not as rich in ripe luscious fruit now certainly is not as lean as previous 2 bottles. It has developed a lovely matuting nose offering up small ripe red fruits, leather/ sos bois. Now has lovely balance of fruit, tannin and mineral acidity for its appelation.
