Color: Dark red; Nose: Spearmint, eucalyptus, cedar, lavender, chocolate Taste: Ripe plum, rough tannins; Finish: Long, but rough and tannic. This smoothed out somewhat after 1 hour. Definitely serve this with fatty meat or cheese to reduce the tannic grip. Decanting a few hours ahead might help also.

Still alive! So deep purple in color I expected the bottle to sing Smoke on the Water. Good nose, no funkiness. Medium full finish. Really enjoyed this wine.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Backward, tough, slightly coarse. Others liked this to some degree, I din't find it very interesting. Was told another recent bottle was much better.
