Deep ruby red colour. In it's perfect drinking window at 6 years old. Red cherry, dark cherry, plums, a hint of raspberry, and an aroma like pine needles that comes across as a more herbal/spice flavour on the palate. Pretty good length and fine tannins. Just lacking some of the focus and fruit purity that the great pinots have.

Taste of Tasmania 09/10 (Hobart): {screwcap, 13.5%, A$30} Cherry & tart strawberry, stalky & smoky. Smells very young. Palate is pure, clean pinot fruit, with medium not-quite-hard acid, discreet oak, soft dusty tannins, light-medium body and a medium length finish. All rather youthfully tight at this age, and certainly doesn't leap out of the glass to meet you, but has some depth of flavour and finish. Give it another two years.
