PHMG WAG: The '09 Oregon Pinots (The Lyon's): Though the QPR is an issue at $70, this is a great wine. Great depth of white stone fruit, some citrus, green apple, even tropical fruit with stone/mineral notes in the background. Nice length and acidity. Great start to the tasting.

Drank as part of an '06, '07, '08 vertical. All three were beautiful wines and I have to think this is definitely among the top domestic Chards. Of the three, I think this was my least favorite (but not by much). A bit dry compared to the other 2 and bit less fruit, but a very round mouth feel. Citrus and cream on the nose with hints of oakiness. This is in comparison to the '07 which was a bit more forward with the fruit (which I found appealing). This wine had great balance and was my favorite of the three. The '08 was also delicious and perhaps was bit tight compared to the prior 2. I think perhaps even a bit more fruit than the '07. Will be curious to see how this changes with a bit more time.

Fantastic balance of oak and minerality. Wonderful aromas of pear, apple and lime with a sensation of wet rock. But the oak comes through, though not overbearing. I like this a lot. A very well made Chardonnay!

Pear, apple, lime. Wet rocks. The oak is heavier than I remember but this is a wonderful wine. A little pricey, but a great food wine.

Light straw color. Fresh nose of pear and spice. Citrus, melon and honey on the palate with crisp mineral notes. Always one of my favorite Chards.
