VA thins out the finish. but still Stemmy and vegetal and savory. Purple flowers and red fruit ripe and exotic. Bright but tannins are a bit rough. There’s tension and it’s alive but still shows the vintage challenges. There’s more density of body than intensity of flavor. Chaptilized

Blind side by side Nuits Clos des Grandes Vignes 14. Visually quite developed with clear browning. Fresh on the nose with high acidity, sour cherries. On the palate this seems nicely developed and I had this down for an older wine. If this is representative I would be pulling corks sooner than later before the fruit fades.

Beef and Vosne (Holland Park): From a magnum, this is the best village wine I have had in a long time. The nose was pure Liger-Belair, with exotic whirls of clove and white pepper and other Vosne spices swirling around a core of sweet red cherries and wild berries, and just that typical bit of earth, meat and green, stalky flowers. Beautiful. Absolutely lovely on the palate too - pure, clean, juicy, with gobs of crunchy cherries and wild berries filling the mouth alongside little flecks of spice and mineral. Maybe not quite as complex as the nose, but this was gobsmackingly delicious and drinking beguilingly well at the moment. Wow.

Light and pale in colour. Slightly lacking purity of clarity. Lots of vosne spice on the nose. Gorgeous on palate. Wild strawberries. Creamy. Elegant and light on the palate. Very enjoyable.

Acker 2019/09; 9/5/2019-9/7/2019 (Le Bernardin Prive, Marea): 2048/3387. Slightly dirty for Liger nose, with citrus, pepper, good clarity and meaty dark fruit. Good spicy finish despite a bit short. 91
