straw yellow at the eye, this Chassagne Montrachet surpises with its elegant notes of stone, hydrocarbon and green apple that really impress nose and palate. Minerality and minerality which seduces and leaves clear memories. Probably at its apogee, with still a balanced acidity and a very long finish. Outstanding. Long life ahead. In a fresh late evening at Chiavari Riviera trying to forget everything

Much stonier and mineral laden than I would have expected, it's all crushed shells and rocks with a faint white peach back note and a cracklingly acid finish. A sophisticated and alluring profile for the Flintstone crowd, but did this somehow get mixed up with a barrel from Chablis? With time and actually warmth as it approaches of all things, room temperature, it expands generously with both fruit and depth increasing to a satisfying and noble conclusion. The finish is long and enticing, with added impressions of nuts and what I sometimes hear described as acacia but would never have had the nerve to declare myself.

Fleshy and weighty wine, moderate acidity and minerality but perhaps a wee bit cumbersome. Enjoyable.
