At 11 years old, a translucent gold color followed by floral, citric, and ginger aromas. Gruner Veltliner is one the best white wines with food. Absolutely spectacular with a yahoo fish spread on bread along with pitted green olives. Also graced with a delightful and caressing texture that coats the mouth. Additional note later: contrary to anything I expected, this Gruner was the best wine on the table with two cheeses spread on a toasted and chewy French baguette eaten with a green olive.

Went from good on release to greatly improved after being aged in bottle for 9 years. Translucent yellow with zero brown. Gloriously oily and caressing texture that was not in the young wine. Very refreshing. As many Gruners are, brilliant with any green food, such as broccoli. Also superb with salsa. Half the price and 90% as good as much more famous and expensive Gruners. Schloss Gobelsburg is a strong candidate for making the highest quality values in Austria.

Still very much alive and an excellent match with grilled cauliflower and grilled shrimp. Not much cress or pepper.

Somewhat four square today. Bright acidity and subtle aroma of lemon with very mellow fruit.
