Not as good as the last btl. On the nose, candied red fruit and spice. On the palate, tangy red fruit. Not gc depth imo, and acidity seems to be taking over the fruit. Not bad, but disjointed and past prime imo.

Pop and pour. Needed some time to open, and then beautiful. On the nose, a hint of funk, candied strawberry, a bark note, spices and a touch of cola. On the palate, rather light bodied and the acidity was screaming at first, but softened a bit with air. Still, beautiful acidity with loads of pomegranate and candied strawberry. Tannin is soft, but still very present, tangy finish with a hint of spice.

Deep brooding flavours and excellent complexity. Raphet farmed this wine form the BEST parcels of the Clos-up high near the chateau...and it really shows in spades!!!

taste: well balanced with very good tones of red cherries, earth, dark florals and spice tones. Fully mature on the palate and coming off as advanced with medium acidity
overall: It was odd when I saw the vintage on this. It really came off as older, and certainly didn't have the acidic streak that a lot of 96s have right now. A nice wine, but doesn't come off as Grand Cru quality and more along the lines of a good Premier Cru

Knightsbridge's Burgundy Tasting (Knightsbridge, Northbrook IL): nose: fairly evolved nose with tones of earth, dark florals, spices, and some bits iron and dark red fruits. Comes off as fully mature on the nose and isn't all that deep or expressive
