La Bomba! Way too much alcohol for my old world palette.
However, in a mosh pit of about a dozen wines on the table at Coles Chop House in Napa, this was WOTN for some. Not me.
Help up fine against way more expensive wines, for that I tip my hat to Rudd. The QPR is amongst the best in the WAY overpriced napa market. Its really obnoxious actually what has happened and the prices people pay for lolly pop wine.
I Decanted 2 hours before consuming which helped. It was smooth but not very interesting. Definitely in a prime spot for drinking, probably won't improve but will last for years as its so high in alcohol which really came through.
In a sea of boring hollow napa wines this stood out as it was amongst the biggest, which many associate as better. I don't.

Darkly colored, chocolate, cherry, cedar and menthol on the moderately intense nose, big, still tannic, bold cherry and pomegranate, grilled herbs especially when just opened, and a sour tart cherry cola finish that goes on for minutes

Chocolate, dark raspberry, touch of earthiness still left. The huge monster chalky tannins have integrated well and it’s drinking at peak for my taste. Thru 2030

(Rudd Oakville Estate Proprietary Red) Very dark red violet color; intriguing, rich, berry, black raspberry nose with a touch of menthol; tasty, tight, tart berry, tart plum palate with a touch of menthol and firm, fine-grained tannins; needs 4-6 years; medium-plus finish

A little later than I expected. Not as much of a finish. Most of the and 06 Rudd’s were much bigger than Ness

Classic red blend from Napa, tannins fully integrated, bright fruit flavors, not heavy at all. Wonderful. Wish I had more.
