This wine is in perfect harmony right now. Fruit has mellowed. Tannins have integrated. Super dark with lots of earthy tar and exotic spices. Finish is just ok other would rank higher. A tad hot and it faded pretty quick. Great nose and swizzle though. Drink up

Dense, inky. Deep cherry red. Caramel, cherries, leather, dust, just a little pepper. Big but not with the fruit. Tannins rounding out but still predominant. Good with beef.

Yummy big wine. Slightly hot nose with blackberry and spice. Dark color and dark flavors, blackberry, tannins, vanilla and spice. Long spicy finish. "She" liked the tannins more than "He"did, but we both enjoyed this bottle.

Color is purple-black, fully opaque with thick legs staining the glass. Profound nose of eucalyptus, bubblegum, bramble, and the typical TJ concentration with a dash of pepper. Silky texture and powerful flavor of black berry compote, licorice, and vanilla bean. Low acidity and high tannins which, I think, hold it's structure together through a long, sweet finish. Was good to go at the pop and delivers the customary Tobin fruit weight/ripeness/style and, as usual, makes any varietal characteristic a moot point. 4+11+17+7 = 89

Tasted in 2 different glasses: balloon/burgundy and rhone. Balloon: Very floral aromas, like jasmine, with hint of cafe au lait. Rich and chewy on the tongue, with flavors of pencil, smoke, dust, and blackberry. Rhone glass: Aromas of dust, spice, and dried fruits. Flavors similar, though a bit more mellow; prefer this glass. Long finish with both glasses.
