Excellent structure, with good acidity and tannin. After about 15 minutes in the glass the nose actually resembled a Bordeaux, though about an hour later the fruit came out and it started smelling more like a N. Rhone syrah (no baconfat, though). This is some serious wine for the money.

Rhone Rangers and Lola: Blind Red 3 - Deeply colored, opaque. Smells tannic. Ringer? Dense, slightly austere, old world qualities. Lacks midpalate. A bit astringent. Not my favorite. This is apparently from the Oregon side of the the Columbia Valley.

Drank with Grandpa on Christmas eve. This was fantastic. Big and smoky but still smooth. To quote Grandpa, "This is really good wine"
