  Nice, pretty magenta blush color of reasonable clarity. First glass explored immediately after opening. Nose is soft and light, showing aromas of an oak barrel, light cranberry fruit, and just the slightest hint of a camp fire. Palate has a decent texture, with pleasing initial attack of some sexy tart cranberry fruits, with building acid and not much other depth. Finish is tart and light, with building acid and a pleasing warmth (not alcoholic warmth) envelops the palate. The flavors aren't particular long, but the texture somehow seems to evolve and change on my tongue long after I've swallowed it. Going on an hour this got a bit more candied. Going on three hours it became lighter and less complex than the start even. The next day this was similar... gained a slight bit of elegance, but still not anything out of the ordinary. The fruit is pure here, but it can't quite shine through... A nice pure, balanced Pinot Noir.... however, I had massive expectations here and this is thusly a big let down (considering the vintage and vineyard; my bet is it's from some of the better blocks).
  
  I left a tiny bit in the glass for day three. Today it is by far the best, and prettiest. The nose now expresses pure raspberry extract (with no seeds) and some woodsy aromas. The palate still shows plenty of tannins, but they are quite soft and pretty, coupled with more ripe raspberry. The acid seems to be toned down a bit. The finish is like raspberry glaze, and lingers like this on the palate for up to a minute. Still not as sophisticated as I had hoped, but it is certainly feminine and pretty. Upping the score a point to 89.
