  • Nothing special here, perhaps shut down or most likely past its time. very simple.

  • Better than the last bottle. But still with a muddy middle and not much of anything on the second day.

  • Age has not improved this wine (based on this bottle anyway). Muted nose (light cherries and raspberries), but aggressive acidity and wood make this difficult to enjoy. Might just be a victim of the vintage, keep for another year or two to see if things improve.

  • Bright red. Spicy notes. Slight cherry. Seemed like a serious and sophisticated wine. More discrete. Smoothe, harmonious wine. hint of strawberry, touch of Asian spice.

Rockss and Fruit

(Lafon Monthelie 1er Cru "Les Duresses") Gorgeous wine. The best Lafon Monthelie I have had yet. Rustic too but has much more material than the previous Bourgogne. Nose of dark cherries, fresh tin, wet earth, spice and nice minerality. Palate is very concentrated and suave with a touch of rustic warmth on the finish. Explosive fruit in this wine. All of the red kind. A wonderful surprise.
