  • A blend of Pinot Noir (40%), Pinot Meunier (40%) and Chardonnay (20%) from a single 1,07 ha 1er Cru plot. The base vintage is 2009 and the wine is disgorged in April 2016. 12% alcohol, dosage 4 g/l.

Medium-deep lemon yellow color. Ripe and quite nuanced nose with aromas of ripe red apple, some yeasty leesiness, a little bit of brioche autolysis, a hint of bright citrus fruits, a touch of red fruits and a faint whiff of wool socks. The wine feels quite rich and round, yet the mouthfeel is pretty weightless and the body is quite light. There are quite dry, delicate and pure flavors of mealy yellow apples, steely minerality, some wet stones, a little bit of bitter and a slightly odd, rubbery note. The wine is high in acidity, but the mousse feels rather light and a bit short. The finish is dry, fresh and pretty mineral-driven with quite long flavors of wet stones, tart citrus fruits, some mealy red apples and a little bit of yeasty leesiness and French bread.

A stylish, delicate and structured Champagne that is more about subtlety and bright minerality than power and weight. The wine shows nice linearity, precision and sophistication, but it also feels still very young and a bit one-dimensional at this point. This is more of a lovely, gastronomic wine that needs to be paired with food that will coax out some fruit underneath the minerality, than a flashy and impressive wine that impresses with the first sip.

  • Fine , chalky. Nice balance bitween elegant bitterness and lively acidity. A kind of a rich and shy core in the middle. Chineese pomelo, rhubarb. 40% pinot noir and 40% pinot meunier. Excellent. Better than Ulysse colin.
