  • From 750ml. Double decanted and served immediately. Colour dark red with brown edge. Nose consistent with last note - plenty of Pessac tobacco leaf and cedar, touch of spice. Palate more full this time though and less oxidised, even an hour after opening. Not fresh or long, but balanced with some of the leather and spice coming through. Maybe the extra decant gave this wine a second wind. Nothing special and still a little dried out like the previous outing.

  • From 750ml. Level was perfect and well into the neck. Opened and poured with 20 mins. No decant. Colour was deep red with brown tinge at edge. Nose was very Pesac, lots of tobacco leaf, cigar box, leather. On the palate most of the fruit had gone to leave some residual drying tannins but some of the Pessac tobacco notes. A little astringent and not too much on the finish. Over the course of the hour it went downhill, oxidising rapidly. Fared a little better when drunk with food. Not a bad wine but just left too long in the cellar. Drink up as this wine is nearing its end of days.
