Richaud is a master with red cairanne, but his white are of a lesser pedigree... Agreeable but not balanced enough. Go for oratoire saint martin in white for this commune.

This is from the natural wine movement with very little sulfite added and certainly no sugar, acid or enzymes as is the case with most wines. Given this, one has to take a different approach in the appreciation. The aspect is slightly cloudy and it tastes very pure, closer to the real grape taste than heavily SO2-ed whites. The nose is dominated by rich honey (from light flowers) with limes and peaches in the background. There is a slight fizz from CO2 on the palate which is round, ripe and watery. Honey comes back to the foreground again and it is fresh and pure tasting. It is surprisingly fresh for a Southern French wine but some of this may be the vintage effect - a cool year in the Southern Rhone. I liked it and it was surprisingly tasty with a light curry to add to the honey richness.

Dominated by C02 spritz. Seems nice and fresh - was expecting more weight.
