Opened about five hours before consumption; closed upon uncorking, but opened up after some air time. Slightly hot nose, but not overly so. Intial taste was a burst of fruit, but the mid-palate was hollow and a slightly bitter finish.

Vicard Barrel Tasting (Devon Valley Hotel): (Tasted Blind): A bouquet of sweaty, meaty notes with some deep red fruits. On the palate, the wine has some marmite, and damson, but is a little jarring and heated, with high alcohol.

Still has a lot of fruit. Had some of the taste of a Cabernet Sauvignon. Long finish. Typical Paarl terroir is present, but subtle.
