  • Dark, wintry, brambly bouquet of damson preserve and an attractive porty, raisiny nose. Lovely weight and density, splendidly spicy and peppery but equally fruity and chocolatey on the palate. A long, satisfyingly sweet finish, nicely pulled back with just the right level of acidity. Very good - ideal for a cold winter Sunday.

  • Hafif opak koyu mor renkteki bu şarabın oldukça nötr olan ön burnuna, hafif isle beraber ıslak çakıl taşı gibi mineralite düşündüren notalar, kiraz,erik,böğürtlen gibi siyah meyve,otsu baharat ile birlikte vanilya,arkada ise, belirginleşen biber ,hafif animal ,zamanla da tütün eşlik ederken, katmanlılığı farkediliyor.Orta üstü gövdeli ,yumuşak ve konsantre, tazeliği yeterli.Entegre olma yolundaki tanenleri gücünü hafif kuruluk ile hissettirirken,tüm bunlar ile gelen dengesi ve akıcılığı,damakta olduğu gibi siyah meyvenin ve tütünün hissedildiği, hafif sıcak ama lezzetli bitiminde de sürüyor.2-3 sene sonra gerçek içim olgunluğuna ulaşacak.

  • This is a tremendously accomplished Syrah/Grenache/Cab blend from Empordà - a Catalan denomination that needs to be taken much more seriously. A youthful, dark beetroot colour, exuding an exuberant olfactory concoction of blueberries, pine smoke and molasses. Fantastically weighty and full-bodied, this splendid wine successfully finds a balance between power and elegance, through a richly expressive tapestry of flavours: blackberries, cherries, charcoal-grilled beef, liquorice and herbs such as rosemary and lavender. Lovely velvety tannins too. Quite splendid - puts many celebrated Aussie Shiraz blends to shame. Will be fascinating to see how it evolves with age.

  • Interesting and very promising young wine from the Emporda region (Torrent/Girona), made by the renowned Catalan winemaker Anna Baqués; the 2008 is the first vintage of this wine. Varietal composition: a Garnatxa-Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon blend, with a short stay in French oak (three months). Deeply purple-red colored wine with a very fruit forward nose displaying intense aromas of blackberries, cassis, smoke and a touch of herbiness. Youthful, full-bodied palate, made in a Mediterranean style with abundant ripe fruit, a nice concentration and a spicy texture. Juicy finish with a little, agreeable astringent bite. To be decanted at least two hours. Already highly enjoyable at the moment, but the wine may gain in finesse with some additional cellaring. A whole lot of wine for the money.

    Interessante, veelbelovende jonge wijn uit de Emporda-streek (Torrent/Girona), van de hand van de bekende Catalaanse oenologe Anna Baqués; in 2008 werd deze wijn voor het eerst afgevuld. Samenstelling: een Garnatxa-Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon blend, met een kort verblijf op Franse eik (drie maanden). Diepe purperrode kleur en een expressieve, fruitige neus met intense aroma’s van zwarte bessen, cassis, rokerige tonen en een zweem van kruiden. Smaak: jeugdige, volle smaak in een mediterrane stijl, vol overvloedig rijp fruit, kruidig van textuur en met een degelijke concentratie. Sappige afdronk met een kleine, aangename bittere toets. Best twee uur op voorhand te decanteren. De wijn biedt nu al enorm drinkplezier; kan bij verdere rijping misschien nog wat aan verfijning winnen. Zeer veel wijn voor een bescheiden prijs.
