Bold and singular. As others mention, it’s a large Napa cult. Decanted for 10 hours and it was still a bit tight. Velvety.
Unlike other Napa cults (e.g. Bond), the price of admission is not worth it. Did a blind comparison against a ‘16 Sinegal ($125) and they were nearly identical, which was surprising.

This was a crowd pleaser at the wine tasting; didn't quite live up to the 86 Montrose tasted right before it but was not too far behind and definitely worth a look for fans of big steak wines. This paired perfectly with the picanha that I smoked that night.

Decanted over cocktails. Wow! This is not a complex wine but it's just what you're looking for in a California Cult. It's showing over-the-top, focused, intense blackcurrant and licorice over a silky bed of sweet acid and firm tannins. Just delicious and showing so well.

Dinner w/New Friends (Their house): We opened and decanted this in the morning and let it hang out for prob 7 hours before rebottling and this was a wine that could have used more time. Which I guess we know was likely to be true as it is quite young. First impression is too much fruit, a bit too much oak, a bit too much of almost everything. But with some time it eases a bit and get some more secondary notes and I think this might be quite nice but we're prob looking at at least another ten years.
