Plum to cherry red color. Bouquet of plum, cherry sweet ripe berries, chocolate and hint of earthy oak that carry forward to the palate. Medium body, off-dry, with medium acidity and soft tannins. Not much finish. Nice, pleasant, mellow wine but not likely to wow.

I think this is past it as they say - dark red/brown in glass. Nose is soft and flat. Palate has a decent hit of acid and lighter tannin - some hints of dark fruit and oak in there - not jumping out. Not a great experience such that i would recomend buying this.

I think the diplomatic way to describe this wine is 'bold'. Yes, a bit more assertive than you'd expect a merlot to be, but again, like many Ontario wines around the $15-20 mark, while it does not score extra points for finesse, you have to appreciate their natural quality. That being said, this may benefit from more cellaring and it may still become an elegant wine. It does show a lot of promise, but it's quite charming now also.
