  • Found this in the bargain bin of a major retailer. Was skeptical but figured it was worth a try for the price. And it's drinking great, fresh as a daisy in fact! Heady aromas of lychee, ginger and pear. Palate is all turkish delight and musk sticks, textural and generous, but balanced and not too weighty. Easy to drink. Doesn't seem too developed, really. Though the palate is lacking in acid somewhat, so I'd be drinking this now or soon.

  • Screwcap. Very powdery, talc-like nose, with a sweet lychee note playing second fiddle to astringent limestone, kerosene, and sage. The palate shows lovely tropical fruit flavours of longan, ginger, banana, lemon marmalade, and fresh lime. It's full-bodied, but dry; there is a bare hint of residual sugar, but it's easily overpowered by mild acid and tannin. Compared to the bottle I had six months ago, it's significantly more advanced, but no less delicious.

  • Nose of candied ginger and turkish delight, with a hint of chocolate powder. Palate shows fresh flavours of pear, rosewater and apple juice. Big, round mouthfeel, with furry pear-skin tannins and tightly-wound acid giving it structure. I'm not sure how much longer it can last, but at 7 years old, this has already proven itself an ageworthy Gewürztraminer, not the easiest thing to find.

  • Has that typical varietal note of turkish delight, lychee and sandalwood on the nose. Really infectious, has you coming back for more. Palate was weightier than expected, but had that spicy finish with musk and some fresh tropical fruit. One of the better Gewurz I had in NZ.

  • NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Dinner 2008 (Andrew's warehouse): {screwcap} A citric-and-lychee nose. Musk and spice on the palate blend with pot-pourri fruits. It’s quite acidic, which adds to its power, and gives it persistence. Despite an initial impression of palate sweetness, this finishes quite dry. Despite its heft, it’s not especially complex, although at a young age and as a fairly early drinker that’s hardly a crime. I wouldn’t keep, however.
