Cracked open my last bottle to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day with family. Everyone seemed to enjoy it well enough. Again, a little more ripeness than I prefer, with kind of a liqueur feel to it, but some nice Cabernet flavors and rich, dense mouthfeel gave some pleasure.

Cracked another bottle for Halloween and it was in great shape as well. Noticed the tannin in this one a bit more, but pretty much presented as the other two bottles. Rich, ripe, middle-aged Napa Cabernet. Not my favorite style, but very enjoyable.

Another bottle in good shape. Ripe and rich Napa Cabernet. Oak is not overt and has fully integrated, perhaps contributing a slight caramel note. Dense and extracted with no tertiary character at this point. I double blinded this on my brother -- he guessed Calistoga Cabernet 2004 vintage -- pretty close! He did see the bottle shape and that the cork was very crumbly, so perhaps not the best blind conditions, but I was impressed nonetheless!

14.2% abv. Recent auction purchase. Very dense and concentrated. Quite ripe and almost liqueur-like with noticeable alcohol. Not much Cabernet character. I'm not really a fan of this style, though some may find it impressive, especially at this age.

Surprisingly an earthy, funky nose. Dark Berry, hints of tobacco, with a good finish. Good cab, not really special but indeed an 89 to 90 point cab.
