  • It's ouille but while it has a slight oxidativeness, it has a nuttiness, the wine is intense, thick, and the fruit is full of power. Laser sharp acidity. Initially I wasn't sure how I felt, but with air, it just got insanely good.

  • PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Medium golden to the eyes.

Golden orchard fruits with savoury and sweet floral notes. Very clean and classic. Minimal oxidative notes but these add so much complexity to the wine. Very impressive at this point.

Significant evolution over the next 3-4 hours - even more complexity, with arguably more depth though less structure - A sign of the wine signaling to us we opened it a little too early, fellow taster mentioned.

“Wow” wine every time I have this cuvee. 94-95 points.

  • Nutty, reductive nose initially strange and borderline unpleasant, but gets better with air. Vegetable stew on the nose, as well as nutts, fudge, butter and caramel, burned sugar. Quite a lot of accidity on the palate, develops some sweetness and same nuts on the palate. It was quite good, but I don't see the reason for the hype from this bottle. Certainly an acquired taste.

  • Holiday Dinner at Nathan's (Nathan's House - Chicago, IL): Intensely nutty and waxy, there's a lot to like here if you're a fan of the style. The fruit was very bright and had nice lemon/lime throughout. The fruit was really overpowered by the nuttiness and the floral notes. An interesting wine that paired perfectly well with some Comté.

    Grande vino
