Have to agree with the latest note of 3 years ago. I knew I was taking a risk letting this wine/vintage get to this point......With the pull of the cork I was encouraged - great fruit with a sense of balance. First tastes, very impressive, but then it went downhill quickly. Drinkable for sure, even a bit of enjoyment, but no WOW factor with it this far past prime.

Had good promise at start, hints of black pepper, black currant, dark ripe cherry, and clove on the palette. Way past it's prime though as even the single glass didn't hold up after 20min, with the spice almost non existent and the palette turning to a sour cherry with a black licorice nose.

Pop & pour. Certainly not as robust as when we tasted at the winery 3 weeks ago (holiday barrel). Somewhat thin, with predominantly sour cherry flavors. Highly acidic as well. Previous tasting was all berry fruit, with much more body and lighter acid. I'm a tad disappointed to be honest. This does have a lot of secondary flavors, like forest floor, tobacco, a touch of vanilla...but the thin body and sour cherry just doesn't work for me.

Past peak - bit of stewed fruit. Drink now, or better yet use for coq au vin!
