  • At home with a casual dinner, had almost forgotten about this wine. Really enjoyed it when it was young. Splash decanted, was fully open after 20 minutes and evolved over 2 hours.

Medium magenta/purple color. Nose of dark berries, blackberry jam. Plate is dark cherry, black fruit, forest floor, baking spice and cloves. Tannin structure is still intact, suggesting more life ahead.

This has aged nicely, I thought I may have let it go too long. May be past its prime but very nice to drink now. More elegant and settled than what I recall when it was young. Based on what I think I paid (~$25) the QPR here is outstanding.

  • Drinking perfectly now, huge value considering what we paid for this several years ago. Dark ruby-magenta color. Very solid core of cool WA Cabernet, showing more of the chocolate and berry compote notes, hints of leather and fresh forest. No grape seed sense at all, a clear indication this is ready. No orange edge or hint of excess aging. Lasting, delicious.

  • I don't know what is going on, but I have had 4 of these bottles and twice I thought they were very good and twice I was disappointed.

  • Peppery noise with a hint of volatile acetate that isn't offending me. A bit more accessible after an hour in the decanter. This wine has a viscous mouth-feel and lots of black fruit and wood. Some undertones of clove spice. Drinking really pleasantly right now. EDIT: After 24 hrs. this wine is really opening up, with hints of red fruit and a spicy round tannin structure.
