Peppery noise with a hint of volatile acetate that isn't offending me. A bit more accessible after an hour in the decanter. This wine has a viscous mouth-feel and lots of black fruit and wood. Some undertones of clove spice. Drinking really pleasantly right now. EDIT: After 24 hrs. this wine is really opening up, with hints of red fruit and a spicy round tannin structure.

Not as good as a bottle tasted a couple years ago but still quite drinkable. Has some complexity and has harmonized all the different grapes in the blend but at this point not worth the $ originally paid at purchase. Still...the leafy tannins/acids carry on and don't get in the way of the NY strip steak that went with it
