  • Tasted along with a 61' Chateau de la Tour, both out of 750's. Poured a healthier brown/red color. Holding up pretty well on the palate with charming, advanced dark fruit, medium acidity, and rounded tannin. After the 61' this was a treat, and seemed to hold well in the glass over the 15-20 minutes we spent with it. If you have well stored mags, you should be in for a treat.

Nice acidity; still has some red fruits hanging on; I enjoyed this. Drink 'em if you got 'em, as this is fairly old bones by now. Fully mature, but not yet dead.

  • Cork was pretty compromised with lots of black mold under the capsule. Magically got the cork out intact. Nose of damp cellar, faint strawberries, violets, carmel - a little bit of drainpipe full of rotting leaves. Surprising amount of fruit on the palate- sweet ripe cherries, strawberries, orange peel, a cranberry sauce tinge. A slightly juniper-y note, herbs, earth and a bit of caraway seeds lay in the background. Dry as a bone but mouthwatering in all the right ways, this is the kind of beauty that could lull me to sleep. Hope my other few bottles are as good as this one.

(edit)*2 hour mark was the sweet spot, nose blew off, dusty cherries and strawberries mererged. Fruit was turned up quite a bit more.

  • Nose was muted but the fruit was holding up well on the palate. While it didn't blow me away, it was very enjoyable.

  • Drank at the CT offline. Still a lot of life in this. Didn't take specific notes but it was chaining all through the 2-3 hours it was in the decanter. Had 2 prior with better fills that were completely DOA. This was open for business.
