La Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin (Vancouver) - Halloween Soiree (Hawksworth): Medium red showing quite a bit more age than the ’01 Esmonins. On paper I thought this might be a clunky wine (vintage/producer combination), but happily it wasn’t. Still a bigger and more robust profile than the previous Gevreys, but there was some beautiful sweet yet tart fruit on the palate along with a ripe and sappy nose. Decent acidity with good length and a fairly soft mouthfeel. Nice tart cherry fruit comes through on the finish. Drinking well now. Excellent.
