Weekend with Eddie - Part 1 (Marea, New York City): Beautiful fully mature nose displaying oily yellow citrus fruits, seashell, saline, a hint of butter scotch and cream. Beautifully layered fruits, good density, reasonable amount of acidity and long seashell driven finish. As usual in mature white Burgundy, this became fresher and lighter with air. Lovely showing.

Lazy Sunday group Holiday dinner (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown): I picked the lightest color bottle and it truly paid off. The color is as light as the 02 Boillot with only a hint of light gold. Smoke, seashell, saline, delicate yellow fruits and cream. Airy palate, weightless and creamy. Interesting to note the similarity with the 02 Boillot version. Not a big wine but quite complex. A lovely fully matured Le Montrachet.

great nose, absolutely brilliant ... but on the palate it does not show the same brilliance at the start, and even from magnum is showing some age. This wine is lovely in a subtle way, not a blockbuster but very enjoyable.

Youthful and fresh, with the power one would expect from the vineyard. Not dying, but no reason to hold.

Round yellow fruit without the precision. Some thought over the hill. Not oxidized but the fruit fading. Round palate is appealing but not much nose.
