(released in Nov. 2011, reconditioned) lots of good materials here; chocolate covered cherries at first that slowly come together and reveal some of the usual suspects of cedar, thyme, cigar wrapper, brown sugar and with air time, more powerful boeuf bourguignon scents. Delicious palate, that reveals some of the tenderness of the vintage on the midpalate and finish with a caramel-like sweetness and dusty brown sugar. This is huge at the price! Yum.

At first more backward and significantly tighter than the '69 Remoissenet Vosne-Romanee featuring more carnal flavors of game, smoke, leather and blonde tobacco. More robust structure (tannin) that make it seem a bit dry and austuere. Opens up to some truly classic aromas. Can age for quite a while yet!

Another go at this, blind: beguiling nose of warm cherry/vanilla cake; still pretty structured as in my last note.

Almost 3 years to the date since I last tasted this. This bottle was much more austere, structured and needing to open up.

Bottle and cork were in decent condition but unfortunately the wine inside is vinegary
