I remember a friend guessing northern Rhône on this a couple of years ago, and I do understand, the peppery tones are quite pronounced a long with a broad fruit and a dry finish, that signifies the European, classic wine. This is by no means old, but have reached maturity, albeit with a lot of primary fruit left, and works very well with meaty foods.
