Another Sunday, another slow-roasted pork shoulder; it seemed appropriate to appropriate a White Rose from the "cellar." Spin the dial and 2008 comes up; have not touched this vintage for a couple of years; the last experience was a little disappointing. Glad to report that this wine is sparkling!
The perfume fills the glass with exotic excess, lots of floral and berry notes as opposed to the barnyard funk. Balanced black cherry, medium acidity, very mild tannins, generous finish.

Red hot, round (for white rose). Seems candied, and fake. Not that good but could've been bottle variation. Followed over several hours and tasted across a number of temperatures. Perhaps in a dumb phase.

Bouquet of red fruit, light smoke, rich spices, and damp earthiness. More acidic than other White Rose wines on the initial taste, which mellows some with air.

Dundee Hills Passport Tour (Dundee Hills, Oregon): Dark cherries on the nose have a gentle touch to them. Rose scents show as well along with nutmeg and some tangy orange peels. Full cherries with skins play with full citrus that evolves nicely on the mid palate. A bit of lemon appears with some baking spices later. The tannins have a firm feel to them and a little bit of heat shows through in the background.

Tasty enough, but ought to be a lot better for the price.
