Had side by side with the '08 Quivet and provided a great study in contrasts. This was ripe and balanced, brighter and more elegant than the Quivet. It had a touch more complexity with orange peel, lavender, white pepper and blood orange. Definitely some olive and gaminess, but nothing compared to the Quivet olive-bacon bomb, which was delicious, but in a slightly tawdry way. Lovely finish with well-integrated tannins that kept evolving over the course of a couple of hours - this will keep for several more years easily.

Slightly edges out the 08 quivet we had last night. Lots of finesse, medium bodied, ripe but not overripe Syrah fruit, candied bacon, pistachio, pistachio skin, peaberry/peptol bismol (in a pleasant way), light herbal stemminess/garrigue, mostly resolved tannins... all with a good spine of red fruit acidity. Delicious.

Excellent fruit, spice is a little hot, still. Would recommend decanting at least 2 hours. This will show well beyond the 2015 drinking window, I would venture to 2017-18, with proper storage.

Even better than the last bottle. Unfortunately, it's my last one.

Excellent, best of the bunch! Perfect spice profile that went with the deep berry fruit.
