Caminade’s 2007 tastes modern, balanced and fruit driven. Plum and berries dominate. It lacks the traditional tannic edge or gaminess found in Cahors such as Clos la Coutale’s 2008. Yet Caminade is not any less interesting. It reflects French tightrope walking. It wants to please palates trained on Argentina, while reminding them that fruit isn’t everything, with its line of pepper and mineral. Came recommended as excellent QPR by a local wine shop. Flat and uninteresting is not a bargain at almost any price, other than to use for sauces and marinades.

9/27/10: The other review seems a little harsh. I would say this is a nice little week day wine, much more interesting then about 90% of what you'll find on the market for the same price point. Sure it's simple, but it's also honest. As you can see on the label, Merlot is also put into this wine. 86-87

Milquetoast Cahors, destined for boring by-the-glass service at bistors. There's nothing at all wrong with the wine other than being utterly dull and uninteresting.

Wine Wizards Tasting (The Warehouse): 11/1/10: Medium aromatics. Softer style, nice acidity. Good for the money. 86
