Dark blue / black hue. Plush nose. Black currant, plum, cassis and cedar. Blue fruits on palate with long med+ finish. Prime time. Wish we had more but this was a gift.

side by side vs a 2006 Saffredi Fattoria Le Pupille super Tuscan. this showed its CA character from the start - sweeter nose; a tad lighter than the Saffredi; very pretty, no hard edges, nice long finish. at a great spot now - needed the hour decant i gave it. very very good.

Big cab that took some time to open up and needed filtering as it threw a lot of sediment. Drank over 3 hours and needed the time to show its better side. Very tannic on opening and mellowed out a little over the 3 hours. Muted flavors of mocha, dark fruit, and chocolate.

(Staglin Family Cabernet Sauvignon Salus) Dark red violet color; nice tart currant, cassis, cedar nose; very tasty, plush but poised, ripe currant, cassis palate with integrating oak; medium-plus finish (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot)

had this back at the end of May 2022; from memory, it was terrific - bright cherry fruit, good acidity, smooth soft tannic finish.

Last bottle of case, darn, probably the best of all. Incredible for a second label, I can only imagine what the Staglin Cab tastes like.
