This wine was very thin, with not much character. Don't know if we got a bad bottle, but reluctant to give it another try. There are much better wines for $10 than this wine. Gave my girlfriend a headache.

In a word . . . solid. This is very well made wine and an incredible value at $10 per bottle. If you needed proof that there are excess grapes of very high caliber floating around Napa in this economy, this is it. Smoky with substantial tannins and a lingering finish, I was very impressed. Stock up on this stuff.

Picked a bottle of this at TJ's b/c of the ratings. nose is cigar box - but the cheap cigar box smell (read unpleasant). Initial taste - thin, but good soft ripe flavors that quickly get slapped down by the oak -It is that sucking-on-cheap-balsa-wood taste.. low acid and very soft with little tannins. Take away the oak, and this is an easy drinking glass. My wife likes oak heavy wines, so she actually thought this was good, but I quickly tired of the one dimensional wood. for $10, I can't really complain, but I can say that it is not a re-buy for me.

Did not consume out of proper stemware so no points, but will probably fall in the mid 80's for me. Fresh flavors and good acidity. Seemed to be missing some tannins (I expect some tannin kick from a Napa Meritage this young) which keeps me from getting too excited about it. Will possibly pick up another bottle. We'll see....

Excellent value, well balanced wine with notable but not overwhelming tannins.
