Oah, very sweet were the first words of me and my friends uttered (sorry we just came off drinking top Barolo and Hermitage and somebody insisted opening this with the steak). A typical Argentinian Malbec with lots of fruit/Alc. and little aromatic length. A wine that better be served to people who like big bruisers and have a palate tuned to orange juice and soft drinks. They will surely like it, but oenophiles...

Dinner with Quinta do Crasto reds: PnP straight from wine fridge. Dark garnet. Am sure palate fatigue was kicking in already but was surprised that while this wine was very smooth (14.5% alc...) it seemed aromatically rather muted. Surprised to see that I have had this before.

Dark garnet with some purple. A nice nose with dark fruit and some sous bois. On the palate very rich, in my eyes overripe, berries, and other dark fruit, which tastes burned at times. Fine tannins come out of the very generous fruit only after about 1h in the decanter. Just a touch of heat which carries into the rather short finish.
