A friend had this wine in his cellar that was given to him from a California associate and had kept it in somewhat non-optimal conditions but the cork was in very good shape with a run maybe 1/3 up the cork. Orange on the rim was obvious but the overall body was still of the light bodied color of aged cabernet. Nose was reticent until 2 hours open. Dark fruit apparent on the tongue but even after 90 minutes open and then through an aerator it was never flamboyant. Still it was balanced with decent acidity, mostly resolved tannins but it would have been interesting to have tasted it if it had been kept at 60 or less rather than 70-75.
