  • Cork in perfect condition, so was the wine. Popped and poured with two friends and we sipped over two hours. The wine changed a ton. Overall, I loved the aromas of cranberries, tart blackberries, wet leaves, earth, menthol, with time I started getting more mushroom and spearmint notes. The tannic structure is still solid – they’re dusty but still holding everything together. Sweet berries on the palate, but also a lot of tart and wild berry aspects. Fresh acid, tingly, provides balance. I love the evolving flavors of mint, balsamic glaze, white pepper and even some sun-dried tomato. This is a really complex and delicious wine, showing richer-sweeter tones, but the tannin-acid focus keeps it really interesting and food friendly. Paired really well with a skirt steak. I wish I had more. For a fraction of the price of a Napa Cab, this over delivers. Go Redwood Valley!
