  • I was initially unimpressed with this (popped and poured), but it was significantly better after 1.5 hrs open. Very much on the savory side of PN. A core of earthy dark cherry and cranberry, but loads of earth, herbs and minerality. On the palate, excellent acidity, with a touch of tannin hanging on...very good showing.

  • An overall good wine albeit on the simple and straight forward side. Light oaky remnants as the oak is now well integrated, good fruit, medium body. Well round, silky tannin. A touch sweet on the core and we wonder if this the result of a bit of chaptalisation as it felt a bit out of sync with the rest of the wine. That been said we simply enjoyed every glass of it. 88 but a good 88. Drink now

  • This one stands head and shoulders above all "simple" Bourgognes tasted recently. There is a sound marriage between wood and fruit, I had feared too much wood because of their preference for high toast oak. It has depth and complexity and a nice finish. My online retailer has now sold it for 9 €, he has lowered significantly prices on 2008 and 2007, because this are not "stellar" vintages. What had I missed in the last years if I had relied on Vintage Charts.

  • This wine was served at 60-65 degrees and serially tasted over two hours. The robe is medium ruby and the nose opens after the first hour to show moderately intense aromas of Bing cherries, grilled meat, coriander and nutmeg. The palate is medium-weight, with medium acidity, light dry tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13%). The middle is solid and the finish medium in length, albeit slightly dry. This is a rare Bourgogne that will likely benefit from some cellaring. Drink 1/13-12/16.
