Georg Breuer - Vertical Riesling Nonnenberg 2001,2006-2018 + X (@Private location): *** brief note from vertical tasting *** Glass: Gabriel Standard Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Not optimal cork and bottle. Some oxidized notes, mellow apple. Very mineral, dense, lots of pressure, but not showing the full potential. Hence no rating.

A private lunch with family (at home): Intense but youthful white golden colour with green reflections; the nose is all aromatic herbs and spicy minerals, with a only a hint of tart citrus, deep and completely fresh; the angular palate is primary and youthful but not austere, beautifully balanced and energetic, with palpable stony minerality and juicy fruit; salty finish with very good resonance and length. Outstanding, long life. It will be interesting to compare and contrast this with the monumental Schlossberg 2008 in the coming decades.

Georg Breuer - Double vertical Schlossberg / Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Georg Breuer, Rüdesheim, Germany): Glass: Stölzle White All wines (except where noted otherwise) where double decanted about 7-10h before tasting. Pale golden color. Clean, a bit muted nose, citrus fruit, lychee, but also some hints of apple must. On the palate it seemed to me very closed and not yet ready. Lean, precise, vibrant energy and a beautiful balance. Liquid stone, great length. This wine will certainly be a killer in 5-10+ years, but this bottle was too young and not yet ready for the big stage! 92-93+++

Middag med venner: Blind. Ananas, svakt strøk av petro, høy syre, intens, varig. Stor munnfull, men ikke så veldig kompleks.

Breuer Schlossberg ve Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Breuer in Rüdesheim): Not blind, decanted for six hours
Very controversial wine at the table. Undescribable nose, some herbals, juicy, very precise and not Close to his Peak. Could be a real stunner in a few years. 95+
