After tasting the 2006 Dujac Clos St Denis in 750 the night before in NYC, I decided to open a magnum of Ponsot's Clos St Denis. Both wines were in almost an identical place which is at their apex and absolutely beautiful. Wonderful CSD nose and mid-weight beauty that is amazingly open for being a Grand Cru in magnum format. Really beautiful in every facet and wonderful to share with special friends. A great representation of a great producer and terroir!

This had a beautiful nose of strawberries and cherries. On the palate there was a unique texture which is present only with old vines. Quite long despite a weak vintage and certainly very approachable and open at this stage.

HDH Celebration of Burgundy Dinner (Everest): I really liked this out of the gate. Big, full throttle nose with red and black cherry and loads of spice. With time I found the acid to get a bit edgy. Really good now, but I wonder how the acid will integrate with time.
